Zoo Tycoon and many other CD-ROM games in the Garden need better emulation than SheepShaver, like Qemu and VMWare. Oftentimes, a game's page will give info on issues and tips that the game might need to play, so it definitely helps to search for games in the Garden that state they run with SheepShaver since it can run a lot of smaller and older games and is easier to set-up.
Mac emulation can be looked at as a game in itself; trying out different programs, getting your feet wet on how Macs used to be like back in the day, getting comfortable with the retro-style of the OS.
